Whatever your Fall adventures are, glowing skin can be a part of them. Follow these crucial skincare steps for the dewiest skin ever. Address the summer damage to your skin and counteract the seasonally dry elements of the cooler months. That means you need to adjust your skincare routine – from head to toe. It sounds overwhelming, but it’s easier than you think. Check out our round-up of the top Fall skincare trends for 2020.
First, let’s look at why fall air drys out your skin and products to keep you glowing all season long. Its an easy transition with the right products, and we are here to take the guesswork out of it.

Why your skin gets so dry in the fall
The cooler, less humid Fall air may be great for your hair, but not so much for your skin. Summer damage and indoor heating will leave your skin looking like your pet lizard just in time for Halloween. Not the look you’re going for, I’m sure.
Addressing summer’s mark on your skin
Before we touch on our fall regimen, we need to address the mark that Summer has left on your skin. Long days in the sun can leave your skin looking weathered and dull, lacking the radiance you want. Multi-correctional face oils like Vintner’s Daughters’ Active Botanical Serum, packed with nutrient-rich botanicals, will breathe new life into your skin.
Quick skincare adjustments to keep you glowing all season
A few years back, I had an allergic reaction to propylene glycol, a preservative found in skincare and cosmetic lines. I now align my skincare routine with a more holistic approach. Here are a few adjustments I made to keep my skin dewy all season long – from head to toe.
I start and end my day with a simple cleanser, Osea, ocean cleanser. The key ingredients are what drew me to these products. A lineup of holistic components like Algae, Cypress, Jojoba seed, Juniper, and, Vegan lactic acid keeps my skin in check. I love how gentle this cleanser is on my face.
I prep with Tammy Fenders’ Essential C Tonic. An exhilarating herbal toner, which whisks away dullness with Ginseng, a bright burst of Vitamin-C and antioxidants. For a quick burst of freshness, I store Cotton pads soaked with the elixir in my refrigerator. It’s so refreshing!
CeraVe moisturizing cream is at the top of my list. CeraVe is designed to help repair and strengthen the skin barrier so your skin stays soft and healthy-looking. There are Ceramides in every CeraVe product. Don’t know what Ceramides are? I didn’t either until I started using their products – Hop on over to read all about the benefits here. Exfoliation is the key to vibrant skin, however, too much of it can be damaging. Removing dead skin cells can improve the effectiveness of topical skincare products by enhancing absorption – exactly what you want right? The answer is yes and no. While this sounds like exactly what you should do more of, it turns out, that too much is not good.
Here’s why – key issues exfoliation is meant to treat, like dryness and breakouts, can actually be exasperated by its overuse. A good rule of thumb is to exfoliate one or two times per week. Cut back if you see any conditions worsening. Cut back to once a week in the fall if your skin tends to be on the drier side. If I see that once a week is still too much, I skip to every other week. I let my skin tell me what’s right.
My Nighttime Skincare Routine
My nighttime routine is similar to my morning, except for this one major addition. This inexpensive nightly ritual has been a life-changer for me. The $27 purchase that gave me the best complexion since I was twenty. I have battled dry, cracked skin for as long as I could remember. And honestly, even when I was twenty, it wasn’t as dewy as I hoped – not due to lack of effort. My rituals of moisturizers, hydration masks, and serums never wavered, but still, my skin caved to New York winters. After sampling every moisturizer on the market, the addition of a humidifier is what brought my skin back to life.
Body lotion- So often this step is overlooked. For me, this is part of my daily routine year-round. For you, it may be a step that you incorporate only during the colder months. Whatever works. My go-to lotion is Eucerin Advanced Repair. I love the head to toe coverage and since I use so much of it, the inexpensive price tag helps.
Setting it out in crucial spots like your kitchen counter and bathroom vanity will help remind you to apply often. Applying lotion while the skin is still damp, allows it to penetrate more effectively. Other key areas are your desk, vanity, and a mini for your bag. This extra layer, along with gloves, helps prevent hands from cracking during the harsh winter months. The key is to start preventatively (before your hands crack) and continue all season long.
My final step is cocooning my lips with Agave + lip mask. It leaves them with a cushiony, soothing texture. I love that its lanolin-free, vegan, and supercharged with superfoods—for hydration and healthy skin. FYI – I love their lip scrub and daytime lip balm too!
Agave + Lip Scrub – Cleanse, exfoliate and moisturizer all in one step – It doesn’t get better than that!
Agave + daytime lip balm– An eight-hour, hydrating lip balm with a creamy, soft texture and an orange-vanilla scent. I’m sure you see the pattern here – I love their products. What initially drew me to them was the vegan, lanolin-free component. Your skin is the largest organ of your body and I like to treat mine kindly. Their products are aligned with that objective in mind.
