You know by now that I am all about keeping things simple – And this Bourbon Glazed Carrot recipe is no different. I skipped the oven time and pre-boiling and went straight to a quick saute. Your carrots will be cooked in no time, their sweetness will be preserved and their flavor will be amplified with a glistening bourbon glaze.
What You Need For Bourbon Galzed Carrots
- Carrots – Cleaned and peeled. I leave some of the green foliage top for additional color.
- Butter – No substitutes here please. Real butter has a rich, creamy taste that can not be replaced.
- Brown Sugar – Dark or light brown will do. I prefer dark brown for its robust flavor.
- Bourbon
- Salt and peper
- Fresh thyme leaves.
Brighten your holiday table with these glistening bourbon-glazed carrots. Ready in only 15 minutes!

How To Make Bourbon Glazed Carrots
- Peel and wash the carrots.
- Heat butter in a large skillet, iron or nonstick, until melted.
- Add carrots and cook for 8-10 minutes or until carrots begin to get tender.
- Add brown sugar and Bourbon; (be very careful and turn off the flame to add the whiskey as fumes from the alcohol can ignite) stir to dissolve brown sugar and coat carrots in glaze. Continue to cook for 3-4 minutes or until mixture gets sticky. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and thyme leaves.
- Serve immediately.
- Enjoy!
Sides dishes are an easy way to make your holiday table pop with color.
